The festival of Mahashivratri is celebrated on 4th March in our country. This festival has special significance for Shiv devotees. The festival of Mahashivaratri follows the great glee after the month of Shiva devotee Sawan. 
 It is said that Lord Shiva was married to Mother Parvati on Shivaratri. In this situation, on this festival of Lord Shiva, after 12 miraculous views of Shiva, all the troubles of the devotees of Shiva are dispelled.

 Somnath-  Somnath is considered the oldest and the first Jyotirlinga in all 12 Jyotirlingas in India. This is in Saurashtra region of Gujarat. According to Shiva Purana, the moon was discharged from this curse at this place.

Mallikarjun - This Jyotirlinga is situated on the Sri Lash Mountain near the Krishna River in Andhra Pradesh. According to legendary belief, the philosophy of this Jyothirling is freed from all sins.

Mahakaleshwar - This Jyotirlinga is located in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh. This is the only Jyotirling which is southward. Mahakala's fame is famous all over the world. Pooja of Mahakal is eradicated from age.

Omkareshwar - This temple is located near the town of Indore in Madhya Pradesh. This is due to the form of Jyotirling oon, due to this it is known as Omkareshwar.

Kedarnath -
This Jyotirlinga is located in Uttarakhand. Like Kailash Lord Shiva very much liked, Kedarnath is also very important in the same way.

Baijnath - This Jyotirlinga is located in the Jharkhand region. It is also considered to be one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.

Bhimashankar - This Jyotirlinga is situated on the banks of the river Bhima of the Maharashtra province. This Jyothirlinga is known as Moteshwar Mahadev.

Kashi Vishwanath -
This Jyotirlinga is established in Banaras. Kashi has immense significance in all religious places. It is believed that upon arrival of the catastrophe Lord Shiva will wear Kashi on his trident.

Trimbakeshwar - This Jyotirlinga is located in the Nashik district near Godavari river. It is believed that Lord Shiva had established this place in Jyotirling form on the request of Gautama Rishi.

Nageshwar - This Jyotirlinga is situated in the place called Dwarka of Gujarat. From this philosophy of Jyotirlinga, salvation from all kinds of sins is attained and all the desires are fulfilled.

Rameshwaram - This is one of the four Jyotirlingas. It is located in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is believed that at this place Lord Rama himself had established Jyotirlinga. Due to this Jyothirlinga was named Rameshwaram.

Ghrishneshwar - This Jyotirlinga is located in Maharashtra. The famous caves of Ellora are also here.
